Join our 60 hour Radiothon!
Written by Sandra Walsh on April 14, 2025
Triple Y like many other Whyalla organisations have experienced challenges over the last year, and this year we have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 for transmission equipment to keep us broadcasting.
Our equipment is atop of Mount Laura, and any time a lightening strike hits a powerline surrounding the West of Whyalla, we lose power to the tower- knocking us off air, sometimes for hours!
We are kicking off the first of our fundraising efforts with a bang, a 60 hour radiothon over the Anzac Day long weekend, with different announcers in the chair broadcasting live for the entire 60 hours.
We will have raffles, prizes, auctions and a go fund me available for donations, there is plenty of ways to get involved!
Triple Y has been Whyalla’s only community radio station for 39 years, we have supported non for profits, charities, local fundraisers and groups, small businesses and more for decades; to continue supporting the locals- we are asking the locals to support us
Keep an eye on our Facebook page, and click INTERESTED on our event to be reminded of it closer to the date, and to keep up to date with our auctions, raffles, prizes, and more
If you’d like to get involved as a business and donate goods and services please contact us on 0400 649 747 or email ad***@tr*****.au – for each donation you give as a business, we will put your business into a draw to win a sponsorship package to the value of your donation, and your business will be plugged on air and on our socials leading up to and during the event
